The FBRA undertook a major program to update the whole of Freemans Bay to submit for the retention of the existing zoning of:
a) One House Site
b) The Special Character overlay
The FBRA had members out door knocking and doing mail drops to members and non-members alike, to encourage people to have their voices heard. The final count was over 400 submissions from our suburb alone, which was a great effort.
By and large we were reasonably successful and Freemans Bay came out of the process almost intact. The Special Character overlay was of major benefit, as the rules for this took precedence over any other zoning rule.
