Coalition to Stop Sewage Overflow in Waitemata Harbour
The Herne Bay and St Marys Bay Residents’ Associations have set up a coalition in March 2017 to stop sewage overflow into the Waitemata Harbour. The FBRA has become a member of this coalition.
More than one million litres of wastewater and raw sewage pouring into the harbour every year.
The NZ Herald, in an article published 1 May 2017, outlined waste flows from 41 points around the inner city suburbs almost every time it rains.
